Shepherd’s Girls
A ministry of The Shepherd’s Church in Cary, NC, Flock 1210: Shepherd’s Girls serves girls age 5-18. Focusing on character development and Christian discipleship, the flock meets weekly on the Church campus and for special events out in the community and the outdoors.
Four Ministry Objectives
As a flock, we have a four-prong set of ministry objectives:
Servant Leadership
Christ is our example for servant leadership. We believe in exposing the girls to hands on service opportunities within the church and community to foster a life-long desire to serve others. To lead, one must serve. We strive to provide meaningful opportunities for girls to take ownership and leadership within the ministry.
Faith Development & Discipleship
Our greatest desire is that each girl will experience a transformed life through a relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in Christ and evidence the fruit of the Spirit. We use an integrated approach where faith experiences are built into all of what we do and are paired with structured curriculum that complements The Shepherd’s Church's other teaching and discipleship ministries.
Outdoor Experiences & Adventure
The general revelation in God's creation draws His children close and inspires in His mighty power. Unique and powerful discipleship opportunities abound in the outdoors. At the same time, girls gain great self-confidence as they tackle challenges and learn valuable skills outdoors.
Life Skills
Girls love to explore new things. In the troop year, we undertake badgework in a diverse range of topics. One month, girls might be learning how to prepare for an emergency, and another trying their hands at videography. Throughout the exploration of these skills, we rest on our biblical worldview and help girls see how our faith is intertwined in all that we do.
