Serve at U.S. Veterans Corps

This past Saturday, in honor of Veteran’s Day, we had the privilege of serving with United States Veterans Corps in Raleigh.

serve-usvc-2 This is a local organization that was founded by military veterans and is focused on performing hands on community service projects to service members, veterans and civilians. Our Flock was able to help out with their Toys for Lil Troops mission. Each year, they collect donated toys and send them to military bases around North Carolina and surrounding areas. The toys are given to children of low income and deployed troops. The girls worked tirelessly to sort and bag thousands of toys, games, puzzles, sports equipment… you name it! The bags were labeled for boys or girls and age ranges and will be distributed to military bases in the coming weeks. It was a lot of fun to learn about this great organization in our community and to help with such a special project!
