Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for mass communication and publicity (strategy and implementation). This includes publicity directed to Flock members, to prospective Flock members, to others in our church, and to the public at-large. The Communications Coordinator isn't responsible for rountine communication to the Flock members, e.g. meeting reminders and announcements. These are handled by other members of the Flock leadership as needed.

The Communications Coordinator should be comfortable with coordinating content generation efforts of multiple volunteers as well with creating turnkey content personally (photography, writing, editing).

Qualifications

• Christian age 21 or older
• Registered as an adult leader with Shepherd's Girls
• Agree to the Shepherd's Church Volunteer Covenant and qualified for service.
• Membership or regular attendance at Shepherd’s Church strongly encouraged.

Core Duties

• Manage content on social media and public website platforms.
• Interact with media regarding newsworthy activities of the Flock.
• In cooperation with the membership team, develop new member recruitment initiatives.
• Coordinate the collection and culling of photographs from events.

Additional Responsibilities

• As a member of the Flock leadership, pay active attention to Flock business and be able to accurately and thoughtfully represent the Flock to others in the church and community.
• Ensure content shared to the public reflects Flock values and is consistent with our privacy policies.
• Complete Shepherd's Girls training during first year of service.

Timing of Duties

• There are not weekly duties at the Flock meetings for the Communications Coordinator.
• The Communications Coordinator will have the need to regularly complete tasks in a timely fashion outside of Flock meetings.
• The Communications Coordinator is encouraged to attend campouts and activities to inform a practical understanding of the ministry's operations.
